Past Consultant in Orthodontics and Specialist Orthodontist. Yannis’ basic dental training was at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School where he graduated as a dentist in 2005. After dental qualification, he gained experience in General Dental Practice, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Paediatric and Restorative Dentistry during which he was awarded a Membership at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2007.He then decided to embark upon an orthodontic career and he was appointed as a Specialist Registrar at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London in 2008. In 2010 he was awarded a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of London and during this time he undertook his research degree in muscle cell regeneration for which he was awarded the Houston Prize by the European Orthodontic Society. In 2011 he gained his Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was awarded the prestigious JK Williams Gold Medal as the top-performing candidate in the Royal College examination. Following this post, he was appointed a Senior Registrar in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital and also at Kingston Hospital, which led to the award of his Fellowship, by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 2013 he joined the Ayrshire Orthodontics team and soon after was appointed as a Locum Consultant at Cross house and Ayr Hospitals. He is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Society and the British Dental Association.

His clinical interests are varied and include orthopaedic/functional appliances as well as many of the multi-disciplinary aspects of Orthodontics.

Specialist Orthodontist. After qualifying from dentistry from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 2007, Joanna undertook a year of vocational training in General Dental Practice. She was then appointed as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the Southern General Hospital followed by the Paediatric and Restorative Dentistry Departments at the Glasgow Dental Hospital. Joanna was awarded her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow in 2009 before gaining entry onto the Specialist Orthodontic training program at Liverpool University. She was awarded a Doctorate of Dental Science by the University of Liverpool and a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013.She joined Ayrshire Orthodontics in 2013 and she primarily practises at the Ardrossan clinic. Her clinical interests are interceptive treatment for young patients and functional appliances. Joanna is a member of the British Orthodontic Society.
