Most of our patients will receive a pair of clear, removable retainers at the end of active orthodontic treatment. The rationale is to prevent teeth migrating back in their original positions. Every patient is slightly different but overall, our patients will start with full-time wear followed by night-time and eventually part-time wear in order to maintain a good orthodontic result.

The retainers are made from a clear, plastic material that is durable and allows complete confidence that your teeth will not move in the years to come. Simple measures, which will be discussed at the removal of your braces, will teach you how to look after them and what to do if anything happens to them.
